Academics: Science

The Science Department's objective is to help students gain an understanding of the laws of nature and to encourage them to approach problem solving critically and creatively. In addition, students are directed to realize the interrelationship between the physical and biological aspects of the universe. They should have a heightened awareness of societal issues relating to the environment, health, and technology within the framework of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Students should be able to evaluate data from sources such as the media and journals, and evaluate any biases contained therein. Finally, the department offers a curriculum which will prepare students for further science education and careers.
