2007 France Trip
In early June, one day after exams ended, sixteen students from the French Club, accompanied by Mrs. Kathleen Grugan and Ms. Susan Kerwin, took off for a nine day visit to France. Once the students touched French soil, they never stopped moving. All of a sudden, there was the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, the river Seine, crepes with nutella, the Champs Elysees, the Metro ... and all those people really speaking French! And then, the TGV - the high speed train - which whisked them through the French countryside to the south of France, a region filled with ancient Roman monuments. The final leg of the journey ended on the very beautiful and chic Riviera. The group visited picturesque villages, candy and perfume shops, the principality of Monacco. Warm sunny weather allowed a wonderful afternoon on the beach (pebbles though, no soft sand!) and a swim in the fabled blue waters. Lots of souvenirs and presents were purchased, photos taken and memories s tored to last many a year.
