Arlington Catholic's English Department provides a challenging curriculum aimed at developing skills of critical analysis, independent thinking, and effective writing.

Freshman and sophomore years combine an overview of literary genres with extensive work in grammar, usage, and composition. A comprehensive overview of American, British, and World Literature is presented in the Junior and Senior years, along with more sophisticated work in rhetoric and language. Complementary elective courses are also offered to the upper classmen.
